Cost Accountant

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Cost Accountant to join our highly skilled finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about accounting and finance and is looking to take their career to the next level. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the financial planning, analysis, and reporting of our company. As a cost accountant, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cost standards, budgeting, and financial reporting. This is a fast-paced role that requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of cost accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement cost standards for materials and labor.
2. Prepare detailed reports to help management understand the cost structure and make informed decisions.
3. Participate in the preparation of the annual budget, including forecasting costs and expenses.
4. Analyze actual costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
5. Conduct regular physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.
6. Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability.
7. Work in conjunction with the financial team to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive understanding of the company's finances.
8. Assist in month-end close of the general ledger including the preparation of journal entries.
9. Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and others.
10. Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
3. Strong knowledge of standard cost, cost accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
4. Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
6. Experience with ERP systems, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
12. Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity.
