About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The Cost Accountant will play a key role in analyzing, monitoring, and reporting on the financial performance of our manufacturing operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in cost accounting and manufacturing to contribute to the success of our company.

Responsibilities:

Perform cost accounting activities for our manufacturing operations, including analyzing production costs, material usage, and overhead expenses.
Develop and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
Monitor variances between standard costs and actual costs, investigating and explaining any discrepancies.
Assist in the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Participate in inventory management activities, including physical inventory counts and reconciliations.
Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation and explanations related to cost accounting procedures and practices.
Stay current on industry trends and best practices in cost accounting and manufacturing.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems; experience with cost accounting software is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
