Are you a dynamic, analytical thinker with a knack for numbers and a passion for manufacturing? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Permanent Cost Accountant to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your skills in a fast-paced, innovative manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in cost accounting, with a firm understanding of GAAP and SOX, and the ability to interact effectively with both internal and external auditors. This role requires a hands-on approach, with responsibilities ranging from account reconciliation to cost analysis, month-end close, and variance.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by product, by customer type and by value stream.
  • Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward, and cost analysis.
  • Coordinate with IT department for system issues, maintenance and development such as production, purchasing, import/export, accounts payable, accounts receivable, import/export IT, receiving, shipping, and other.
  • Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories.
  • Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls.
  • Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory, liability accounts by customer type by division.
  • Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability.
  • Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and others.
  • Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management.
  • Work in special projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of Cost Accounting in a Manufacturing Environment.
  • Must have a strong Cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.
  • Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards.
  • Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
  • Experience with GAAP and SOX compliance.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external auditors.
  • Experience with account reconciliation, cost analysis, month-end close, and variance.
  • The individual will be expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his / her work product. The individual will work closely with all major functional leaders of the Company.
