Job Details

Our manufacturing company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controls Engineer to join our team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to design, develop, and implement automated manufacturing systems. You will be a key player in enhancing the efficiency and productivity of our manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Allen Bradley, PLC, Network Set up, Network, Panel Builder, BOM, and BOM management.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement control systems to improve production efficiency and product quality.
2. Develop and maintain control system documentation, including detailed designs, validation protocols, SOPs, and training materials.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve controls related issues in the production process.
4. Work closely with the production team to ensure the effective operation of all control systems.
5. Develop and implement PLC programs and interfaces for new and existing equipment.
6. Design and build control panels in accordance with UL 508 standards.
7. Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) for control system projects, ensuring all components are correctly specified and sourced.
8. Set up and maintain network systems to support the operation of control systems.
9. Provide technical support and training to other team members as needed.
10. Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in controls engineering and related technologies.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or Controls Engineering is a plus, but not required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLC programming and Panel Builder software.
  • Strong knowledge of UL 508 standards for control panel design and construction.
  • Demonstrated experience in Network Setup and Management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex control systems.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
  • Proficiency in BOM management, with a keen eye for detail.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
