Job Details

Senior Controls Engineer Manages Automation Control system projects from inception to post-project support. Advances the development of existing and future processes and templates. Review projects to ensure team members are completing tasks correctly. Coach and mentor team members to ensure they are advancing their knowledge within the controls department. Lead in high profile, large scale projects where multiple controls team members are working together. Provide support to electrical, controls, service, and customers.

Key Role Responsibilities
Proficiently design and program Industrial Automation Solutions in Allen-Bradley Hardware, Rockwell Automation Software, Inductive Automation Ignition(a plus) and other PLC/HMI platforms.
Proficiently design electrical schematics in CAD (Solidworks Electrical or related)
Become UL Certified
Maintain and advance Controls templates. (PLC, HMI, Schematics)
Design new templates for future software.
Ensure accurate documentation (SOPs) for all processes within the department.
Implement and improve processes to reduce our Time to Market and improve our quality of work.
Lead new product development projects (R&D)
Ensure projects are being completed with the highest level of quality and report issues to management.
Ensure projects are following customer specs and meeting customer expectations.
Stay up to date on current technologies
Document information covered in controls meetings and ensure missing parties receive vital information.
Work with other departments including Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, and Applications.
· Excellent customer communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills. Provide leadership and guidance for both internal & external concept and final design reviews.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Automation Controls/Electronical Engineering, related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
· 5+ years of automation industrial experience environment
· People and Project Management experience
· Experience designing automation control systems using PLCs and engineering computer-aided design software.
· Systems Integration
  • Discrete and analog device I/O
  • Communications such as Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Modbus, Serial

PLC Programming / Programming
  • Allen-Bradley platforms including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, SLC, PLC5
  • Siemens, C++, Python

HMI Programming
  • FactoryTalk View ME, SE, Plant PAX knowled
  • Inductive Automation Ignition, C-More

Robotic Programming
  • Fanuc and UR Robot setup, programming, integration

Device Setup
  • Servo Drives and VFDs
  • Various instrumentation setup and calibration
