We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our dynamic team in the Solar energy industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the solar industry, with a keen understanding of solar energy. This challenging yet rewarding role requires a professional with a strong foundation in forecasting, budgeting, internal controls, and financial accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our company's financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
• Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with CEO, COO and the leadership team.
• Study, analyze and report on trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future company growth.
• Develop, implement and maintain effective internal controls to ensure accuracy and predictability in company financials.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports.
• In-depth understanding of the solar industry, solar energy production, cost analysis, and market trends.
• Spearhead the financial planning and budgeting processes.
• Lead and support the execution of the company's financing efforts by building relationships with potential investors and financial institutions.
• Communicate effectively and clearly with other departments to provide accurate and timely financial information and status updates.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required (MBA preferred).
• Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, or CPA).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance role in the solar or renewable energy industry.
• Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance and information analysis.
• Well informed in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, money market and business environments.
• Excellent communication, leadership and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
• Experience in partnering with an executive team, with a high level of written and oral communication skills.
• Exceptional analytical skills, understanding of project management principles, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence – ability to motivate staff.
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases.
