Controller

Based in Rochester, We are a enterprise software company that is well known for their Enterprise data management, surveillance, and risk management solutions. This has led to the success of many businesses in capturing complex and actionable data to reach real time decisions across their trading portfolio.

We are looking for a talented Controller with a strong background in accounting and strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, modeling, and reporting.

Job Responsibilities:

● Manage all finance and accounting operations including all financial reporting, proper revenue and cost recognition, working capital management, liquidity and cash reporting, commission calculations, vendor contracts and billing, cost controls and risk management
● Coordinate the preparation of annual operating budget and financial forecast variances
● Oversee invoicing and customer collections
● Prepare and publish GAAP monthly internal financial statements on timely basis
● Supervise distribution of all other internal management reports on timely basis
● Support month-end and year-end general ledger process using accounting software
● Manage annual audit and tax return process with CPA firm
● Supervise all contract administration and maintain the accuracy of contract database
● Interface with lending institution and maintain compliance with loan covenants
● Comply with state and federal government reporting requirements and filings
● Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal financial controls
● Manage internal financial data collection and reporting

Job Requirements:
● 5+ years of experience as a Controller or an Assistant Controller
● 10+ years of accounting and finance experience
● Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, economics, or equivalent
● Thorough knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and procedures
● Experience with processing monthly internal financial statements and related balance sheet reconciliations
● Knowledge of QuickBooks software, including all functions and closing process
● Strong skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
● Ability to solve problems autonomously
● Strong communication skills
● Excellent administration and organizational skills.

Bonus:
● Experience implementing ASC 606 revenue recognition standard
● Experience with automated financial processes including Maxio and HubSpot
● Experience translating a sales pipeline into an FP&A forecast
● Leading and/or participating in private equity M&A transactions and/or experience raising and reporting to public or private sources of funding
