Controller

Family-owned and successfully operating in the construction industry, my client is looking to bring on a Controller to their growing team! The Controller will play a vital role in managing the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, as well as providing strategic planning to assist in and drive the growth and profitability of our company.

• Ensure regular maintenance and backups of systems and data is performed
• Supervise staff and ensure application of appropriate internal controls
• Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet and statement of activities, financial accounts reconciliations, and cost allocation
• Timely filing of all local, state, and federal tax returns, and other required reporting for multiple states
• Month-end / quarter-end close process, constantly reviewing procedures while eliminating inefficiencies
• Weekly payroll (includes certified payroll)
• Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and oversee external audits
• Oversee cash flow planning process and ensure funds availability
• Daily cash management and accounts payable/receivable operations
• Work with insurance agency to ensure policies are accurately maintained including general liability, workers’ compensation, professional liability and directors' and officers' liability coverages and prepare for audits
• Work with subcontractors to maintain updated information including insurance, W-9s
• Represent organization to banks, financial partners, institutions, auditors, and officials
