* You will work closely with the Director of Finance and travel to the hotels periodically is required *

As our next Controller (Hotels) you will be our strategic financial business leader for several hotels.
You will:
  • Develop | implement strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of our guests and team members.
  • Involved in all parts of our organization not limited to front office, sales, food and beverage, loss prevention, housekeeping, banquets, and accounting.
  • Consistent financial involvement that helps achieve the desired flow without a lapse in quality.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee all hotel accounting processes and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with the Uniform System of Accounting for the Lodging Industry
  • Manage month-end close process by the 15th of each month, including preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Develop | implement effective financial strategies to enhance the hotel's profitability and financial performance
  • Monitor | analyze hotel financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement
  • Prepare | present financial reports to senior management
  • Coordinate with other departments at hotels and corporate office to ensure accurate and timely budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards in the hospitality industry
  • Collaborate with GMs to analyze inventory | spending procedures, annual budget, revenue projection, monthly forecast, and implement policy change with proper approval by the Company
  • Ensure payroll is processed and posted on time and accurately
  • Monitor procedure and suggest methods for improvement
  • Monitor cash handling procedures at the hotel level
  • Develop effective systems to ensure deposits and hotel safes are balanced.
  • Complete bank reconciliation and prepare balance sheets
  • Attend hotel weekly revenue meetings.
  • Work with the Sales Department to ensure proper credit for incoming groups is correct.
  • Ensure all vendors are correctly insured according to Company standards.
  • Ensure all contracts and agreements are approved by the Director of Hotel Operations and the Director of Finance.
  • Ensure all barter or trade agreements are approved by the Director of Hotel Operations and the Director of Finance
  • Ensure hotel compliance with established accounting policies and procedures, legal requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings.
  • Weekly review of all hotel's F&B comps and promos for proper tracking and trends.
  • Review and approve all expense reports.

Required Experience and Education
  • 5+ years experience in hotels at a Controller level or above.
  • Independent restaurant experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to analyze financial statements and KPIs.
  • Intermediate to proficient skill level in Google Business Suite and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to use 10-key by touch, typing, and copier machine.
