Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Accountant/Controller to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. The Senior Project Accountant will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial aspects of various construction projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Accounting: Manage all financial aspects of assigned construction projects from initiation to completion, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including project financial statements, variance analysis, and profitability reports, for management review and decision-making.
Cost Management: Monitor project costs, analyze variances, and implement cost-saving strategies to optimize project profitability.
Billing and Invoicing: Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate and timely billing to clients, review client contracts, and resolve billing discrepancies.
Cash Flow Management: Manage project cash flow, including billing, collections, and payments, to ensure adequate liquidity for project operations.
Compliance and Regulation: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls, including GAAP and industry-specific regulations.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide financial insights, support decision-making, and address project-related financial issues.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, including cost-benefit analysis, financial modeling, and risk assessment, to support strategic planning and project evaluation.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in project accounting and financial management practices, and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or relevant professional certification preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in project accounting or financial management, preferably in the construction industry.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of construction accounting principles and project management methodologies.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
