Controller

A world-renowned medical device company is looking to hire a Controller to lead their accounting team. This role will play a key part in key business initiatives and partner with the CFO to ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual accounting/ financial activities are completed.

Job Details:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Controller to join our team in the medical device industry. This role is crucial in overseeing all aspects of our financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. Our ideal candidate will have a solid background in management, cost accounting, and IFRS, with a proven track record of excellence in financial leadership roles.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close process.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Additional controller duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the medical device industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA, CPA, or related certification is highly desirable.
• Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with creating financial statements.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
• Proficiency in management and cost accounting.
• In-depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to strategize and solve problems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High ethical standards and professionalism, with a commitment to confidentiality.
