Job Details:
Seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual for a Controller position with an established real estate investment company. This is a crucial role within our financial department, responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a strong understanding of the mortgage industry, possessing a deep commitment to financial strategy and planning. This role requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience.

Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts and report variances.
3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
4. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
5. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Support month-end and year-end close process.
7. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Additional controller duties as necessary.

Qualifications:
1. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller in the Mortgage industry.
2. 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
3. Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. CPA or CMA preferred.
4. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
5. Experience with creating financial statements.
6. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
7. Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance and information analysis.
8. Well informed in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, money market and business environments.
9. Strong leadership qualities and a team-focused attitude.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
