Controller

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Permanent Controller to join our dynamic team in the Construction industry. This role will be instrumental in managing and overseeing all aspects of our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance management, accounting, and have experience working in the mining industry or heavy manufacturing industry. This position requires a strong understanding of financial reporting, cash management, budget preparation, and inventory management. Familiarity with Great Plains, ERP solutions, and advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is a must.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all company accounting practices, including preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
2. Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with CEO, COO and the leadership team.
3. Supervise investment and cash management strategies.
4. Analyze complex financial data and extract relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and to project a financial probability.
5. Review and approve all Form 8-K, 10-K, and 10-Q filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (if the company is publicly held).
6. Coordinate and manage company's annual audit with external auditors.
7. Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures.
8. Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
9. Oversee the production of monthly reports, financial statements, and cash flow projections for use by Executive management, as well as the Audit/Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
10. Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.

Qualifications:

1. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
2. Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting required.
3. 10+ years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
4. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems, as well as federal and state financial regulations.
6. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
8. Working knowledge of Great Plains and ERP solutions.
9. Experience in the mining or heavy manufacturing industry is a plus.
10. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
11. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
12. Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time.
13. Merger and acquisition finance experience.
