Accounting Supervisor

Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller to join our thriving organization. This role requires a unique blend of strategic planning, financial expertise, and leadership acumen. The Controller will be responsible for managing and overseeing all facets of our accounting operations, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, and the enhancement of the accuracy of the company's reported financial results.

Responsibilities:

• Apply up-to-date knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and industry-specific regulations.
• Implement forecasting systems to project financial needs and suggest contingency plans to the CEO in advance to preserve copmpany's credit and cash position.
• Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
• Prepare and present the final budget to the CEO and Owner for approval.
• Monitor the budget vs. actual results on a monthly basis.
• Proactively communicate budget deviations to the CEO and make recommendations to remedy problems.
• Coordinates work with outside CPA.
• Establishes relations with banks and other financial institutions.
• Prepare biweekly payroll ensuring the accuracy of pay rates, commissions, incentive bonuses, and year-end bonuses.
• Reconciles corporate credit card transactions and ensures proper expense accounting.
• Collect and analyze data about the company’s operation costs.
• Manage external business entities, including bill payment, reconciliation.
• Facilitates monthly NACM credit meetings to keep up to date on creditworthiness and collectability best practices.
• Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
• Other responsibilities include collaborating with external Human Resources and IT consultants.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
3. Supervisory experience
4. Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis and reporting tools.
5. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP, Epicor).
6. Ability to strategize and solve problems.
7. Strong leadership and organizational skills.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
9. An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
10. CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
11. Experience with creating financial statements.
12. Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
13. Ability to strategize and produce business improvement.
14. Proficient in leadership and team building.
