Job Details

This role is responsible for managing and overseeing all internal accounting operations within the organization. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role supervises financial transaction recording and reporting, annual audits, tax reporting processes, and cash management. Additionally, the VP serves as a strategic partner to the CFO, providing crucial financial insights to guide business decisions and organizational strategies


Essential Functions:

Accounting: Maintain comprehensive financial records for the organization, ensuring proper system controls and access. Contribute to strategic plans by providing accurate accounting data and recommendations. Implement changes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and service standards.
Full Cycle Accounting: Oversee all aspects of accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, cash receipts, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, journal entries, financial review, and reporting. Manage timelines and schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
Financial Control: Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and organization policies. Oversee weekly payments, verify budgets, and ensure accurate reconciliation of event settlement forms.
Compliance & Reporting: Conduct financial variance analyses. Review financial reports for adherence to GAAP and other applicable accounting standards. Stay updated on the latest accounting guidelines and lead organization-wide training on relevant developments. Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure accurate tax reporting, including 990 forms, W-2s, 1099s, and sales tax returns.
Leadership: Manage the accounting team, providing direction, support, and development opportunities. Collaborate with other departments to ensure they meet financial objectives while maintaining sound financial judgment. Develop and manage the accounting and finance department budget.
Non-Essential Functions:

Additional tasks as assigned by the CFO or other senior leadership.
Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent. CPA required.
Experience: Minimum of five years in accounting, with three to five years in a leadership role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity with regulations for nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in MS Word.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and meet tight deadlines.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct supervision over a team or department, including making hiring recommendations, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring company policies are followed.

Must be a practicing Christian with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, spiritually grounded, and an active member of a Bible-believing church.
Willing to lead and participate in team prayers, Bible studies, and other faith-based activities.
