Construction Superintendent

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team. You will be responsible for overseeing all phases of construction, from initial planning to completion, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all aspects of construction project from planning to implementation.
2. Supervise onsite personnel and subcontractors.
3. Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients.
4. Negotiate with contractors to receive reasonable order costs.
5. Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications.
6. Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
7. Plan and schedule projects, estimate time and materials, supervise subordinates, maintain records and files and prepare reports.
8. Plan and supervise craft activities includes determining method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked.
9. Coordinate assigned work with work of different crafts, company departments, or other contractors.
10. Maintain liaison with engineering and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.
11. Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required.
12. Assist Labor Relations Department in maintaining communications with unions, resolving jurisdictional disputes, requisitioning required manpower, etc., as necessary and applicable to the labor relations policies and procedures.
13. Monitor compliance with company and site safety programs, documents and ensures corrective measures are implemented.

Qualifications:

1. Must have 2+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a similar role.
2. Experience in multi-family, apartment, condo, hotel, podium, garden, or wrap construction projects.
3. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
4. Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings, and plan sets.
5. Advanced understanding of risk management policies and procedures.
6. Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
7. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
8. Strong leadership and management skills.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
10. Proficient in MS Office and construction management software.
11. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field is preferred.
12. Proven track record of completing projects on time and within budget.
13. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
14. OSHA certification preferred.
15. Ability to travel to various construction sites.
