Construction Manager / Area Manager

We're a single family residential builder with 45+ years of established experience building various residential communities throughout the Southeast that include residential communities, townhome communities, and single-family subdivisions.

Our team is expanding and building out a new division in Huntsville, AL. We are actively looking to make a long-term hire for a Construction Manager / Area Manager with ground-up residential construction experience.

This position would have the opportunity to grow into a SENIOR LEVEL MANAGER.

We will be going vertical within the next 90 days and are actively looking to add a Construction Manager to the team.

Our organization is seeking a Construction Manager/Area Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in a high-profile role within a growing company in the construction industry. The successful candidate will have the chance to work on a variety of projects, primarily focusing on Single Family Homes and Townhomes. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a passion for excellence. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management and a proven track record of successful project completion.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all stages of project life cycle, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
2. Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within
budget.
3. Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members.
4. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
5. Ensure resource availability and allocation.
6. Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
7. Report and escalate to management as needed.
8. Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
9. Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
10. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
11. Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
12. Manage relationships with clients, stakeholders, and relevant authorities.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or relevant industry experience.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management with a focus on Single Family Homes and Townhomes.
3. Proven working experience in construction management in the construction sector.
4. Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in construction and project management.
5. Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
8. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management tools.
9. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
10. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
11. In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
12. Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
13. Good knowledge of MS Office.
14. Proven experience managing a team.
15. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
