Job Details:

We are a leading company in the construction industry, seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our project planning phase, ensuring that we deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions to our clients. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for calculating the total costs associated with a project. This involves everything from analyzing blueprints and project plans to preparing detailed, time-bound estimates.

Responsibilities:

1. Analyzing blueprints and other project documents to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project.
2. Preparing detailed cost estimates that include labor, materials, equipment, and other project-related costs.
3. Using software such as AutoCAD to prepare estimates and proposals.
4. Collaborating with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors on estimates.
5. Balancing multiple proposals and estimates at once, ensuring each reaches the client by the deadline.
6. Monitoring the stages of projects to ensure costs are in line with forecasts.
7. Providing consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs, etc.) as required.
8. Identifying and quantifying potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs.
9. Updating and maintaining records of all estimation documentation.
10. Participating in tender process (e.g., design, submission, review, adjustments, and discussions).

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating or a similar role.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD, and other construction software.
4. Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills.
5. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
6. Excellent time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Proven ability to read and understand civil, architectural, and structural drawings.
9. Knowledge of the latest cutting-edge cost estimation technology and software.
10. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
11. Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience with complex transactions with little supervision.
12. Certification from a recognized professional body (e.g., AACE, ICEC) would be an added advantage.
