Job Details:

We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-skilled Commercial Estimator to join our vibrant team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to a leading construction firm recognized for its quality services and commitment to excellence. As a Commercial Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our ongoing projects by providing accurate cost estimations, project bidding, and financial forecasting. This position is permanent and full-time, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities:

1. Developing comprehensive, detailed, and accurate cost estimates for various commercial construction projects.
2. Analyzing architectural plans and project specifications to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
3. Presenting prepared estimates for bidding, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and negotiating contracts.
4. Conducting special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
5. Consulting with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
6. Maintaining a comprehensive database of materials, labor costs, and equipment rates to utilize in the preparation of estimates.
7. Continually reviewing and updating cost estimating methods, techniques, and software to ensure our estimates are accurate, competitive, and profitable.
8. Working closely with project managers and other team members to ensure estimates are accurate and projects stay within budget.
9. Assisting in the preparation of larger and more complex assignments including the estimation of new projects and the pricing of changes.
10. Participating in project meetings to provide input on scheduling, costing, and project strategies.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field.
2. A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline is preferred.
3. Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
4. Proficiency in construction estimating software and project management tools.
5. Excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset.
6. Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
7. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
8. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
10. Solid understanding of financial and accounting principles.
11. Professional certification in construction estimating or a related field is a plus.
