Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and services.
2. Review and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and blueprints to understand the scope of work and to develop appropriate cost estimates.
3. Manage project budgets and track costs throughout the lifecycle of the project, ensuring optimal financial performance.
4. Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to gather detailed information for estimates.
5. Utilize project management tools and Microsoft Office suite to maintain organized and accurate project data.
6. Conduct risk analysis to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies.
7. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices and contracts.
8. Participate in project planning and scheduling activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
9. Present estimates and conduct cost-benefit analyses to stakeholders and senior management.
10. Continually update knowledge of market trends, pricing, and construction processes to ensure the most accurate and competitive estimates.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
2. Proven experience in project management and construction.
3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents.
4. Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
5. Exceptional skills in cost tracking and budgeting.
6. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and project management software.
8. Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough cost-benefit analyses.
9. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
10. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
11. A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
