Job Details

Position Summary: Reporting directly to the CEO and COO, you will lead the finance department, managing a team of finance professionals and vendors, and be a key influencer in the development and management of the overall financial organization, internal/external audits, providing strategic advice and counsel to the CEO, COO, and the Senior Leadership Team. At this level, you directly support the growth objectives of the company.

Develop financial plan and cash management strategy in accordance with CEO
Lead the development and use of best-practice policies, practices, and tools that ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization with strong fiscal management, project management, cross team communications and workflow
Responsible for all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, helping to drive the company’s financial goals.
Monitor performance with tracking, establishing corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for current performance data and forecasting future performance
Ensure free cash flow is compatible with company operations, by overseeing the day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal control activities of the organization
Work with the senior management to efficiently develop proposal budgets, provide access to project finance information, and manage contract compliance and reporting
Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing compliance, and taking action
Research revenue opportunities and economic trends
Continually analyze internal operations: identifying areas of cost reduction and process enhancement
Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments, and evaluate and manage capital structure and fundraising initiatives
Lead finance personnel and oversee all financial IT systems and processes, ensuring compliance with all applicable Financial Accounting Standards Board, Internal Revenue Service, State Attorney General, and other relevant regulations

Skills And Qualifications

5+ years experience in serving in verifiable CFO positions
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance
Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills
Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning
Working knowledge of raising capital beyond traditional lines of credit

Preferred Qualifications

Executive experience with security and or government contracting business models and their associated revenue recognition is strongly preferred
Highest degree of integrity, professionalism and maintenance of confidentiality
Self-directed and detail-oriented
Occasional overnight business travel expected
Strong understanding of US GAAP principles and financial reporting technical skills
