Job Details

Responsibilities:
  • Work with estimating team to develop material takeoffs for bid requests
  • Create accurate 2D/3D models of structural steel assemblies using Autodesk AutoCAD and Advance Steel software
  • Generate layout, assembly, and part drawings for fabrication
  • Export and nest DXF files for any parts needed to be cut on the CNC plasma table
  • Troubleshoot any design or fabrication issues with the shop and field teams as needed
  • Communicate with General Contractors and customers on Requests for Information (RFI’s) and Change Orders
  • Communicate with outsource design companies on larger, more complex projects; review drawings for accuracy and errors
  • Help develop and maintain CAD standards for in-house and outsourced design work
  • Help installation teams verify field measurements as needed to ensure the designed application can be installed without issue

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience with Autodesk AutoCAD
  • Experience with Autodesk Advance Steel is not required but is a plus; the candidate will need to quickly learn the software and become fluent in its capabilities
  • CAD Certificate or A.S. in Engineering Technology is preferred but not required; experienced Detailers without formal education are encouraged to apply
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
