Job Details

The primary responsibility of the Building Systems Controls Technician is to perform the installation, programming, testing, calibration, operation, and repair of control systems, including associated software, hardware, and equipment. This role encompasses a range of systems such as energy management systems, environmental control systems, boiler control systems, chiller control systems, and domestic water systems.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of digital control concepts, including analog and digital inputs and outputs, sequences of operations, point addressable devices, closed-loop and supervisory feedback systems, device programming, serial communications, and computer networking.
  • Applies analytical skills to identify and troubleshoot control system malfunctions, determining appropriate repair solutions.
  • Possesses advanced proficiency in utilizing PCs and application software.
  • Exhibits experience in servicing HVAC Building Automation Control Systems and integrating systems effectively.
  • Possesses knowledge of IP-based network and building automation communication protocols and systems, including Niagara Tridium, BACnet, LonWorks, and Modbus.
  • Reports any problems or changes to management promptly, maintaining open communication channels. Collaborates with Operations Manager, Project Manager, and subcontractors to ensure efficient coordination of activities in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Establishes clear communication with customers upon arrival and prior to departure from the work site. Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing their concerns and needs. Actively engages with customers to gain insights into operating problems, while providing regular updates on service progress and recommending system enhancements, upgrades, or replacements. Encourages the sale of additional services or upgrades.

Qualifications
  • Post High School Vocational School, Related on the Job Experience, or an Associate’s Degree
  • Experience in servicing HVAC Building Automation and Control systems (Direct Digital Control systems).
  • Tridium AX or N4 certification a plus
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check to allow access to various types of facilities
