Job Details:

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Bridge Superintendent to join our dynamic construction team. This role is pivotal in managing and supervising bridge construction projects, ensuring that all work is executed safely, efficiently, and within budget and schedule. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on complex and challenging projects, pushing the boundaries of traditional construction methods.

Responsibilities:

As a Bridge Superintendent, you will be responsible for:

1. Overseeing all phases of bridge construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
2. Coordinating and supervising the activities of workers and subcontractors, ensuring all tasks are carried out in line with project plans and safety regulations.
3. Liaising with project engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure design specifications and safety standards are met.
4. Conducting regular site inspections and safety audits, identifying potential risks and implementing corrective actions.
5. Managing the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring that all resources are available as and when required.
6. Facilitating clear and effective communication between all project stakeholders, including clients, project team members, and subcontractors.
7. Resolving any on-site issues or disputes, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
8. Keeping accurate records of work progress, costs, and other key project metrics, providing regular updates to senior management.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Superintendent, ideally in the bridge or heavy civil construction industry.
2. Proven experience in bridge construction, bridge replacement, and Department of Transportation (DOT) projects.
3. Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
4. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a diverse team.
5. Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make decisions quickly and effectively.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
7. Proficiency in using construction management software and other relevant technology.
8. A degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field would be advantageous.
