Boiler Operator (Level IV)

Job Details:

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Permanent Boiler Operator (Level IV) to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in our construction operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our boiler room and related equipment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in industrial settings, particularly in plant operations, and will be comfortable working with high-pressure systems and heavy machinery.

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Boiler Operator (Level IV), your key duties will include:

1. Operating and maintaining boilers, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and other pieces of equipment typically found in a boiler room.
2. Performing boiler tear downs and tube cleaning, ensuring the longevity and efficiency of our boiler systems.
3. Working with Building Automation Systems to monitor and control the operation of our plant.
4. Conducting steam trap troubleshooting, repairs, and valve replacements to maintain optimal functioning of our systems.
5. Serving as a Watch Stander, overseeing the operation of the boiler and related systems, and maintaining electronic logs of operations and maintenance activities.
6. Repairing and replacing key components of our machinery, including bearings, rolls, pumps, and motors.
7. Performing rigging tasks as required, ensuring the safe and effective movement of heavy machinery and equipment.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

1. A minimum of 3+ years of experience as a boiler operator, preferably in the construction or industrial sectors.
2. Certification as a Class IV Boiler Operator.
3. Demonstrated experience with the repair and maintenance of boilers, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and related equipment.
4. Proficiency in the use of Building Automation Systems.
5. Experience in steam trap troubleshooting, repairs, and valve replacements.
6. Ability to serve as a Watch Stander, including maintaining accurate and detailed electronic logs.
7. Familiarity with mill operations and equipment, including bearings, rolls, pumps, and motors.
8. Strong rigging skills, with a proven ability to safely and effectively move heavy machinery and equipment.
