Responsibilities:

1. Conducting thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development.
2. Drafting, reviewing, and revising a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and settlement agreements.
3. Managing all phases of the discovery process, including document collection, review, and production, deposition preparation, and interrogatories.
4. Representing clients in pre-trial proceedings, settlement negotiations, and court appearances.
5. Providing legal advice to clients, explaining complex legal concepts in clear, understandable language.
6. Working collaboratively with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure the smooth operation of the firm.
7. Staying current on changes in laws and regulations, and participating in professional development activities to enhance legal knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
2. Licensure by the Missouri State Bar is mandatory; additional licensure by the Illinois State Bar is a plus.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil defense, with a proven track record of success in litigation.
4. Proficiency in legal research and writing, with the ability to draft clear, persuasive legal documents.
5. Experience with legal discovery, including electronic discovery.
6. Knowledge of legal liability principles and the ability to assess potential risks and advise clients accordingly.
7. Experience in reviewing and negotiating legal contracts.
8. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.
10. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
