Associate Attorney

Myrtle Beach firm is seeking a full time associate for Insurance Defense practice. Practicing litigation attorneys with 1-3+ years of auto torts/insurance defense experience are encouraged to apply. Candidate will be licensed to practice in the state of South Carolina, have superior verbal, written, and interpersonal skills and have demonstrated abilities to work directly with clients and develop and execute service strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience in South Carolina State and Federal courts handling the defense of personal injury and property damage actions, specifically including auto and trucking related tort actions.

Responsibilities:

As an Associate Attorney, you will:

1. Handle a diverse caseload involving commercial litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and pre-trial motions.
2. Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations, presenting evidence to defend or prosecute litigation.
3. Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies.
4. Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations, helping them navigate complex business and legal challenges.
5. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in an effort to resolve disputes efficiently and effectively.
6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and strategic advice.

8. Collaborate with a team of attorneys and support staff to ensure the highest level of client service.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Associate Attorney position will have:

1. Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Active member in good standing with the state bar.
3. A minimum of 2 years' experience in litigation and insurance defense law.
4. Proven experience in representing clients in court and managing complex legal cases.
5. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret laws, rulings, and regulations.
6. Strong negotiation skills, with a proven track record of achieving favorable settlements for clients.
7. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
8. High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
10. Proficiency with legal research tools and software.
