Associate Attorney - Family & Business Law (onsite)

We are an established boutique firm specializing in family & business law including divorce, probate, estate planning and civil litigation. We are looking for an individual to be a long term part of the team and are willing to train newly barred attorneys.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Attorney to join our dynamic team, specializing in Family and Business Law. This is a full-time, onsite position that will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to handle challenging and significant matters, working alongside a team of experienced attorneys. Our firm handles a wide range of legal matters, including civil litigation, family law, probate, estate planning, construction law, zoning, and land use.

Responsibilities

1. Represent clients in court proceedings and negotiate settlements in various areas such as family law, civil litigation, and business law.
2. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, leases, and other legal documents.
3. Conduct thorough case investigations to determine the cause and substantive legal aspects of the case.
4. Collaborate with a team of attorneys to formulate defense strategies, while also establishing and maintaining strong client relationships.
5. Advise clients on business and legal transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations.
6. Conduct legal research and analysis of laws, regulations, and legal articles to assist in the preparation of reports, legal advice, and recommendations.
7. Participate in estate planning and probate processes, advising clients on matters of wills, trusts, and power of attorney.
8. Handle cases related to construction law, zoning, and land use, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications

1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida
3. A minimum of 1+ years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
4. Proven experience in civil litigation, family law, probate, estate planning, construction law, zoning, or land use.
5. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
6. Exceptional analytical skills, with a strong ability to think strategically and rapidly analyze and interpret legal documents.
7. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, displaying a high degree of flexibility and professionalism.
8. Strong research skills, with a proficiency in using various legal research tools.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software for preparing and editing legal documents and presentations.
10. Commitment to adhere to legal principles such as client confidentiality and protection of attorney-client privilege.
