Job Details

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Permanent Assistant Controller. This role is integral to our financial stability and continued growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our accounting operations, including general ledger, inventory, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. You will also be involved in month-end close, year-end close, maintaining the general ledger and supporting work papers, analyzing the general ledger, capital projects reporting, and internal control evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring they are carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Maintain and analyze the general ledger, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Oversee capital project reporting, providing detailed and accurate financial information to support decision-making.
  • Evaluate internal controls, identifying areas of risk and implementing strategies to mitigate these.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with other departments to ensure financial goals are met.
  • Conduct cash flow analysis, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Support external audit processes, ensuring all required information is readily available and any issues are addressed promptly.
  • Oversee tax and compliance activities, ensuring all obligations are met and any potential issues are identified and addressed.
  • Support strategic planning processes, providing financial insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with GAAP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles and practices.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insights and recommendations.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to oversee a team and ensure all activities are carried out to a high standard.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with other departments and external parties.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in the use of accounting software and other financial management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of tax and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in strategic planning, with the ability to provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
