Assistant Controller (Manufacturing)

We are representing a Manufacturing organization that is growing within their Atlanta office!

They are seeking an Assistant Controller who is looking to move up within the organization and will reporting to the Controller.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Controller in managing and overseeing all facets of our accounting operations, including the monthly close process, financial reporting, and balance sheet management.

2. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.

3. Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.

4. Collaborate with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.

5. Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

6. Respond to inquiries from the Controller, and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results and special reporting requests.

7. Work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.

8. Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.

9. Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.

10. Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.

11. Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.

12. Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA, CPA, or CMA is preferred.

2. 5+ years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.

3. Proven experience with Big 4, CPA, Manufacturing, GAAP, Financial Reporting or equivalent.

4. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

5. Experience with financial reporting requirements.

6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

7. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

8. Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment.

9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.

10. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with minimal direction.

11. High attention to detail and accuracy.

12. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
