Job Details

Under the context of the Exceptional Client Experience (ECE model) within the IT Operations Guide, this role involves providing technical support for a subset of business systems applications and contributing to the development of desktop/browser-based applications for back-end server processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Administer and provide operational support for application(s).
Oversee and execute application installation, upgrade, and patching projects.
Utilize a ticketing system to record and track all customer interactions.
Identify and implement enhancements to existing application(s).
Provide timely responses to customer and internal stakeholder needs.
Enhance and document technical processes related to application support and publish knowledge articles.
Assist customers with inquiries and requests regarding application(s).
Gain insight into how customers use the application and recommend improvements for increased efficiency.
Manage application backups, ensure system availability, and troubleshoot and resolve issues to resolution.
Collaborate with external vendors and technical support teams to address issues and deliver strategic improvements.
Automate manual tasks related to application(s).
Generate metric reports for various applications and systems.
Uphold a high level of customer service and offer long-range planning for user departments.
Adhere to and maintain departmental standards, procedures, and documentation.
Comply with all written organizational policies and procedures.
Follow the assigned work schedule as outlined in organizational and department attendance policies and procedures.
Possess comprehensive familiarity with services/frameworks and/or Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to communicate with server software and access databases.

Required Qualifications:

Must Have Skills –

Excellent programming skills on the iSeries platform 5+ years
SQL concepts 5+ years
Database Concepts 5 years
screen programming – Display Files, Subfiles, and Printer files. 5 years

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent programming skills on the iSeries platform – Analyze and Create new programs using RPG, RPG ILE, SQLRPGLE, and Control Language (CLP/CLLE).
Very good knowledge of SQL concepts – Analyze and modify complex SQL queries, embedded SQL in SQLRPGLE, Cursor programming.
Database Concepts – Create and Analyze Physical files, Logical Files, SQL tables, Indexes, Views, Stored procedures.
Good working knowledge in screen programming – Display Files, Subfiles, and Printer files.
Document business rules effectively and should be able to create data mapping documents after analyzing program flows and data flows
ILE Programming – Analyze and Create program modules, binding directories, service programs.
Working knowledge of Message Queue (MQ), MQ Trigger, and embedding XML tags in RPG Programs
Good communication skills and the job will involve owning a project task completely based on the communication with the analysts at the client site

Conditions of Employment:

Successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
Possession of a Class C Texas Driver's License.

Tasks may require light physical effort, ranging from sedentary to light work, which may include some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of lightweight objects and materials (up to 50 pounds).
