We are seeking a dynamic Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the accounting and finance department in a rapidly growing tech company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable, a robust understanding of Excel, and a solid foundation in accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:
1. Overseeing the accounts payable process, ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and on time.
2. Maintaining vendor records, processing vendor invoices, and resolving any discrepancies.
3. Preparing and executing payment orders through various methods (checks, bank transfers, online payments).
4. Reconciling processed payments by verifying entries and comparing system reports against balances.
5. Providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization.
6. Maintaining accurate historical records by filing documents both physically and electronically.
7. Participating in financial audits, providing necessary information and documentation.
8. Assisting in month-end closing procedures and other ad-hoc projects as needed.
9. Collaborating with other departments to improve and streamline processes.
10. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar role.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and other advanced functions.
4. In-depth knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements.
5. Familiarity with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks.
