Accounting Manager

Fast growing food manufacturing and retail company based in North County San DIgo is looking to add an Accounting Manager to their team. The position will support the Controller and managing 2-3 in the accounting team. This is a pivotal role in our financial operations. This position collaborates with various departments and oversees the monthly close cycle and accounting functions for four local retail entities, ensuring precision and integrity in financial matters.

Responsibilities:

• Management of cash transactions and banking activities
• Handling accounts payable and disbursements
• Supervising inventory control processes
• Managing inter-company transactions
• Reviewing payroll, commissions, prepaids, fixed assets, and accruals
• Reviewing and/or preparing journal entries and reconciliations
• Supervise a small accounting team
• Direct involvement in refining accounting processes, such as:
• Developing internal controls to streamline operations and mitigate risks
• Implementing best practices and process enhancements
• Preparing and reviewing consolidated GAAP financial statements, ensuring accuracy through thorough analysis, documentation, validation, and reconciliation
• Lead the monthly close process, reconciliations, analysis, and reporting
• Analyze contracts/agreements, research business transactions, and determine appropriate accounting treatments
• Devise and implement practical applications of accounting standards
• Serve as a primary source for key financial reports and information related to financial outcomes
• Collaborate with management to produce relevant and timely internal reports on financial data analytics, including monthly flash reports and key financial metrics
• Manage sales tax and income tax processes
• Review and/or prepare tax schedules, reconciliations, and analytics
• Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing accounting-related business processes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor in Accounting or related field
• 7+ years of accounting experience
• 2+ years of supervisory experience
• Inventory accounting experience
