We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our vibrant team. This position plays a pivotal role in our construction company, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, financial reporting, and general ledger management. This is a permanent role that offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment where no two days are the same.

Responsibilities:

As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:

• Overseeing and managing the entire accounting operations of the company which includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.
• Ensuring the company’s financial reports comply with laws, regulations, and standards.
• Preparing and reviewing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and report variances.
• Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Coordinating the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
• Supervising accounting staff and providing guidance and leadership to the team.
• Collaborating with other departments to support overall department goals and objectives.
• Implementing and monitoring internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, and company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification would be a plus.
• Ideally experience in the construction industry.
• Proven experience with financial reporting, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.)
• Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially MS Excel) and accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail with an ability to spot numerical errors.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• A problem-solving attitude and ability to work under pressure.
