We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consulting Controller to join our firm. This is a high impact role where you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization's financial health and success. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and staff management.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage all general ledger activity, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statement preparation.
2. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary.
3. Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
4. Manage the preparation of the company's budget and financial forecasts. Implement financial plans as directed by the company’s leadership.
5. Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget. Direct and coordinate an organization's financial and budget activities.
6. Supervise staff accountants and manage their daily activities and development. Provide leadership, training, and coaching to the finance team.
7. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports. Advise management of actions and potential risks.
8. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that financial information is secure and stored in compliance with current legislation.
9. Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate.
10. Assist the leadership in decision making by providing financial insights and reports.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA or MBA is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 15 years of experience, preferably with some time in public accounting.
3. Proven experience in financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and staff management.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including the preparation and analysis of financial reports.
5. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
6. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial managers.
7. Proficiency in accounting software and experience with a software system implementation.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
