We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Accounting Clerk to join our vibrant construction company! This is a full-time, permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in our financial department. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our financial operations, from managing accounts payable and receivable to reconciling bank statements and credit card transactions. If you are a meticulous, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

As an Accounting Clerk, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Managing all aspects of operational accounting related to construction projects of large scale commercial buildings and multi family apartment. Some of these duties will include accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner.
2. Reconciling bank statements and credit card transactions on a regular basis, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
3. Preparing and submitting detailed expense reports, ensuring that all expenditures are appropriately documented and categorized.
4. Maintaining the general ledger, ensuring that all entries are accurate and up-to-date.
5. Assisting with the preparation of financial reports, providing essential data and insights to support strategic decision-making.
6. Leveraging your knowledge of Quickbooks and Sage 300 to optimize our financial operations and improve efficiency.
7. Collaborating with other members of the financial team to ensure that all financial operations are seamlessly integrated and aligned with our overall business objectives.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

1. A high school diploma or equivalent. A degree in accounting or a related field would be considered an asset.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, in the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in Quickbooks and Sage 300, with the ability to leverage these tools to optimize financial operations.
4. Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures, with a particular focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
5. Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to handle vendor relations, onboarding new vendors, resolve billing disputes etc.
6. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
8. Must be able to work in office with the chance to go hybrid, once the candidate demonstrates the ability to focus and complete tasks
