We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Analyst to join our team in the construction industry. This is a unique opportunity to bring your specialized knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis into a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial updates to senior management, assisting with strategic planning, and playing a pivotal role in our continued success. This position requires a firm understanding of financial metrics, monthly reporting, profit and loss statements, and proficiency in SAP.
Responsibilities:
As an Accounting Analyst, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing, analyzing, and presenting monthly, quarterly, and annual operating results for internal use and regulatory reporting.
2. Assisting in the development of financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
3. Recording, classifying, and summarizing financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
4. Understanding and applying financial management principles to ensure proper maintenance of financial and accounting systems and functions.
5. Interpreting financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions.
6. Developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
7. Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
8. Collaborating with other finance and operational teams to support overall goals and objectives.
9. Monitoring and analyzing department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
10. Advising staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
11. Responding to inquiries from the director of finance, firm-wide manager, and other finance and firm-wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this exciting opportunity, you must possess the following:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounting Analyst role or similar, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Proficient understanding of financial metrics, monthly reporting, profit and loss statements.
4. Advanced proficiency in SAP and other financial software.
5. Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
7. Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
8. Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
9. Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
10. Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
11. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
