Accountant

Based in Fort Myers, FL we are one of the top multifamily builders supporting a wide variety of clients across Southwest Florida, and increasingly, across the peninsula! We completed projects that range from site development, infrastructure, roadwork projects, thousands of multifamily units, and industrial renovation to the remodel of a luxury golf community's clubhouse. We are actively looking for an Accountant to join our Finance department. Ideally looking for someone who has worked in the construction industry, accountants payable expertise, and has overseen AIA billing.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage all general ledger activity, ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
2. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
3. Handle all aspects of Accounts Payable.
4. Manage project accounting and cost management activities.
5. Conduct regular budget reviews and report variances.
6. Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.
7. Utilize QuickBooks for bookkeeping and financial management.
8. Collaborate with the management team to set financial objectives and strategies.
9. Monitor and analyze financial data, identifying trends, and offering insights for decision-making.
10. Perform internal audits and assist with external audits.
11. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
12. Review and process all credit card payments.
13. AIA billing.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 1+ years of experience in accounting, specifically within the construction industry.
3. Proficient in financial reporting, budgeting, tax preparation, and cost management.
4. Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Bookkeeping.
5. Expertise in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
6. Strong knowledge of project accounting.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
10. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
11. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus.
