Accountant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant for our dynamic team in the construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. The ideal candidate will be an experienced accounting professional with a strong understanding of all aspects of day-to-day accounting, financial management, and reporting. Responsibilities:

• Oversee all company accounting practices, including preparing financial statements and reporting to senior management.
• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Ensure all financial operations comply with state and federal laws.
• Monitor the daily performance of the accounting department.
• Conduct regular ledger processes.
• Analyze company financials with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budgets. Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.
• Provide strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.
• Develop and manage financial controls within the organization.
• Audit financial documents and procedures, reconcile bank statements and calculate tax payments and returns.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or "Certified Public Accountant" certification is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting and finance.
• Proven experience as a financial controller, accounting supervisor, or senior accountant in the construction industry.
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
• Awareness of business trends.
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages.
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, management, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
