We are seeking a dynamic and experienced part time Accountant to join our team within the Medical Industry. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a driven student who is pursuing their accounting, finance or business degree. The part time Accountant will be responsible for managing a diverse range of accounting and financial tasks, with a focus on ensuring accuracy, compliance, and financial stability within the organization. This is a pivotal role that requires a unique blend of accounting proficiency, financial acumen, and strategic thinking. This person may work up to 25 hours per week intially, with hours and responsibilities increasing as time and skillset progress. We are flexible for the right person on the hours that they work each day with a typical day being four hours in office.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct thorough General Ledger (GL) and balance sheet reconciliations.
2. Prepare and analyze income statements, identifying any discrepancies or areas for financial improvement.
3. Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations, ensuring all business dealings are accurately recorded and reconciled.
4. Develop and manage the annual budget, working closely with various department heads to ensure financial targets are met.
5. Record all financial entries accurately and in a timely manner.
6. Provide specialized healthcare accounting services, ensuring all financial operations align with industry regulations and standards.
7. Manage and monitor grants, ensuring all financial aspects of grant management are handled efficiently and effectively.
8. Lead the year-end close process, ensuring all financial records are accurate and complete.
9. Conduct regular balance sheet reviews, identifying any potential issues and implementing solutions as necessary.

Qualifications:

1. Associates Degree, or student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
2. Experience in non profit accoutning preferred
3. Knowledge of AP, AR and general accounting
4. Knowledge, training and or experience with GL, General Ledger Reconciliation, income statement, intercompany transactions, annual budget preparation, entries, Healthcare Accounting, Grants, year-end close, and Balance Sheet.
5. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
6. Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
8. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
9. Ability to work independently, manage large, complex projects, and meet deadlines.
10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
