Senior Accountant

We are a well-known telecommunications company seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team. This role supports financial operations by performing complex accounting services related to preparing, analyzing, maintaining, and reviewing various financial statements, records, and reports. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of accounting experience, in-depth knowledge of GAAP, and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily accounting operations of the sales department, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.
• Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage the company's financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems using advanced Excel, Peoplesoft, Sage, and Oracle.
• Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
• Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
• Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
• Assist in taking and reconciling physical count of inventory each year.
• Complete quarterly information request for UAF and 499Q filings for multiple divisions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related field.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Excel, Peoplesoft, Sage, and/or Oracle.
• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage large amounts of data and to compile detailed reports.
• Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis.
• Well informed in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, money market, and business environments.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
• Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence – ability to motivate staff.
• Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
