We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Employee Relations Specialist to join our construction industry team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a positive and productive workplace environment. They will be responsible for managing and resolving complex employee relations issues, conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations, and providing expert advice and guidance on a range of employee relations issues. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of labor laws and industry regulations, and a proven track record in conflict resolution and employee advocacy.

Responsibilities:

1. Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee relations concerns, providing guidance, support, and recommendations for resolution.
2. Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into allegations of harassment, discrimination, and other violations of company policy.
3. Develop, implement, and interpret policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with labor laws and industry regulations.
4. Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of all employee relations activities, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and resolutions.
5. Coach and mentor managers and supervisors to handle employee relations issues effectively, promoting a positive work environment.
6. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders, fostering a strong partnership and ensuring alignment with company objectives.
7. Draft and revise employee handbooks, procedure manuals, and other operational documents as needed.
8. Facilitate conflict resolution sessions between employees and management, promoting open communication and mutual respect.
9. Provide training and workshops on employee relations topics, such as workplace ethics, conflict resolution, and effective communication.
10. Stay abreast of emerging trends, legislation, and best practices in employee relations, incorporating these into company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Employee Relations role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Extensive knowledge of labor laws, workplace regulations, and industry best practices.
4. Proven experience in conducting thorough and objective investigations.
5. Exceptional interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
6. Strong coaching and mentoring abilities, with a focus on developing managerial effectiveness.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports, policies, and procedural documents.
8. Proficiency in HRIS and other HR-related software.
9. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
10. Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
11. High level of discretion and confidentiality, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of ethics and professional conduct.
